Worms Take Over California Neighborhood

Worms are taking over a California neighborhood. Homeowners in Tulare are fuming after the critters invaded their front lawns and pools.

They're creepy, they're crawly and in this Tulare neighborhood, just plain everywhere.

This is what Debbie Vasconcellos sees from her front yard, hundreds of thousands of armyworms that have taken over this field across the street. Within days, they've crawled through her lawn, into her pool. And if something isn't done soon, she worries they'll end up inside her home.

"I woke up at 3 o'clock this morning. And doin the get-the-worms-off-me thing. It's just been a nightmare," said Vasconcellos. "So, how did these things end up across the street? Well, the ag experts tell us they're attracted to the shade and the cooler weather that's caused by these trees and vegetation around here. They'll crawl across the street and actually end up on the homes here."
