In this recent undated photo released Tuesday May 22, 2007 by Rome's Bioparco Zoo Photographic Archive, a new born Testudo Kleinmanni, also known as an Egyptian tortoise, an endangered species, is seen as it hatches next to a measuring tape, at Rome's Zoo. Rome's main zoo has successfully bred several rare Egyptian tortoises whose parents were rescued from a smuggler's suitcase in 2005, officials said. The first egg hatched in April, six more followed this month, and there are still several eggs waiting to hatch, said Stefano Micarelli, the head reptile keeper at Rome's Biopark zoo.
