A 410 Cubic-Inch Motorcycle: When Too Much Is Just Right Behold the Gunbus, a motorcycle that takes the idea "there's no replacement for displacement" to absurd heights by cramming a 410-cubic inch V-twin engine into a cruiser that makes the wildest bikes by Jesse James or Indian Larry look downright pedestrian.
German gearhead Clemens F. Leonhardt and his crew at Leonhardt Manufacturing hand-built the massive machine, which is just over 11 feet long and weighs 1,433 pounds. There's no way in hell you'll ever do any corner-carving on a twisty road with that kind of mass, but then that's not what the Gunbus is all about.
No, this bike is all about the engine. And what an engine it is.
The fuel-injected 45-degree V-twin displaces 6,728 cubic centimeters. That's three times larger than the Triumph Rocket III Classic -- the largest production motorcycle in the world -- and the biggest thing between two wheels short of the V8 Boss Hoss. The engine produces 523 foot-pounds of torque, and to put that in perspective the Dodge Viper makes 560 and the Corvette ZR1 has 604.
