Local Great Dane named world's tallest dog It's official: Titan is titanic.
Guinness World Records yesterday named the North Park Great Dane the globe's tallest dog. His official height, as measured by a veterinarian: 42.25 inches from floor to shoulder.
Titan's owner, Diana Taylor, said her white, 4-year-old dog marked the news by slobbering over an official Guinness certificate.
“I saw it today, and I almost cried,” said Taylor, who had long sought the title for the animal she calls her “special needs” dog.
Titan is deaf, epileptic and partly blind, which makes the honor particularly sweet, Taylor said. “It's not just wonderful for Titan,” she said. “It's wonderful for all dogs.”
