Call them Pavlov's fish: Scientists train sea bass to catch themselves by swimming into net

A plan to teach fish to catch themselves is being hatched by scientists.

They want to train young seabass to swim into a net when they hear a tone signalling feeding time.

The fish would be allowed to spend their adult lives in the open ocean, returning to the net to eat only every few days.

The technique would make it easy to catch them when they reached the right size and save fish farmers a fortune on feed.
